January 10 WCRC Membership Meeting

Hi Everyone,
I hope you can access this blog. I've tried to post it before without any luck.

We sent the newsletter via e-mail during December. I had to mail 5 copies because those members didn't list an e-mail address. Let Colleen or Deb K. know if you don't have your newsletter by now.

I'd like to schedule a January meeting that will follow our breakfast meeting on the 10th.
Please post to this blog to respond YES or NO.

I'm already thinking about next year and hope to recruit a new board member that would be interested in helping with the newsletter and taking the Vice President/President Elect position so Colleen can contribute in a different capacity next year.
Anyone that thinks they know of an interested candidate, make sure they know how to get to this BLOG.

Hope you all enjoyed the 2 week plus vacation. I sure did. I caught up with my life and still found time to learn how to use my new cross-country skiis and take the pup to Lapham for some great walks.

Hi Debbie and Colleen,

I'm so happy you accepted my invitation to the WCRC blog. I'd love to show you how it works so we can make one for our WCRC members. Was it hard to figure out how to get a Google account so you can read these entries?

July 28, 2009

Hi everyone,

This blog will be great for us to keep each other informed. In the past I would save a word document as an attachment, but now we can add to each other's words and revise or edit by going to this site.

Change of dinner site: The meeting on August 20, 2008 at Waterstreet Brewery in Delafield. Please attend because the board wants to nominate some literacy service people for an award this year. Please come and get the paperwork started. Many of the nomination forms are due November 1.

Also, we need a community service contact person for the executive board. As you may have read, Maggie Burns-Fess is moving out of state and resigned her position. Please ask around and think about retirees or people that would like to help increase literacy in Waukesha County.

I have 2 speakers booked:
Oct. 11 - John Archinald, author of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
Jan. 10 - Sandra Vander Velden, presenting writing instructional ideas(she's from the speaker's bureau and so WSRA will pay the fees involved)

TBD March 7 - I'm working on getting Sue Boquist to talk about book
introductions and the importance of language and structure with reading.

Hope you enjoyed the avatar I sent with my voice thread. It's been fun creating these internet based sites.
