Michael Ford

The WCRC and WSRA were pleased to present "What if They Don't Want To? Motivating Readers with Dr. Michael Ford". The meeting held at Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee met the Wisconsin Educator Standards: 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10. Approximately 70 people attended the breakfast meeting. Certificates of attendance are available for anyone that attended the meeting.

Hi WCRC board members,

I certainly hope you've enjoyed the new WCRC website that Colleen took the time to create. We have been very fortunate that she has the technology background to get things started. I'd like to ask that each of you plan to stay for at least 1 ½ hours on March 7th following the meeting.

Remember to check the website at www.WCRCouncil.com to keep informed about new membership ideas. We plan to solicit new educators and will have a lot of links to WDPI so they realize attendance at our meetings is wonderful to site in the PDP.

I'll look forward to comments on this BLOG.

summer 2009

Hi All,

I
thought I'd share some of the things I learned at the Summer
Leadership meeting and forms we need to complete to make Honor Council 2009/2010.

We have some requirements in
order to make Honor Council before March 1,2009.  Our survey
showed some people were interested in nominating administrators or
fellow colleagues for some of the literacy awards. I received all the
information, a President and Vice-President elect Red Book update and
found out most of the forms are available on-line thru IRA.

January 10 WCRC Membership Meeting

Hi Everyone,
I hope you can access this blog. I've tried to post it before without any luck.

We sent the newsletter via e-mail during December. I had to mail 5 copies because those members didn't list an e-mail address. Let Colleen or Deb K. know if you don't have your newsletter by now.

I'd like to schedule a January meeting that will follow our breakfast meeting on the 10th.
Please post to this blog to respond YES or NO.

I'm already thinking about next year and hope to recruit a new board member that would be interested in helping with the newsletter and taking the Vice President/President Elect position so Colleen can contribute in a different capacity next year.
Anyone that thinks they know of an interested candidate, make sure they know how to get to this BLOG.

Hope you all enjoyed the 2 week plus vacation. I sure did. I caught up with my life and still found time to learn how to use my new cross-country skiis and take the pup to Lapham for some great walks.

NEWS Flash about our Aug dinner meeting

It was wonderful to get such a good start to our Honor Council requirements.
Somethings we should recap:

Community Service Project for 2008/09:
  1. Deb K is going to call the Clothes Closet to see if they will accept our donations of pj's and books, she'll e-mail that answer

  3. our new community service project position will be discussed at the Oct 11 meeting with our memebership
Increasing new membership ideas:
  1. the principal letter and gift certificate (attached) needs to be sent to area schools... can someone volunteer to make copies, labels and stamps on them to mail?
  2. Colleen is making 3 "participant's certificates" for PDP plans and we'll have a table (manned by 2 of us) at the end of each breakfast meeting.
Our program to reach future teachers/Student Teachers:
  1. teachers that bring a ST to the Jan. meeting be entered with one ticket for a special door-prize raffle
  2. WCRC give out one WSRA free membership to two STs or students that attends that mtg so they get the reduced rate to go to convention (of was it the cost of the convention?)

Award nominations:
  1. paperwork needs to be completed if we have nominations for:

  1. John Archambalt Book Sale people? (Donna?)
  2. Someone to set up a table to display PJ's/books and then ANNOUNCE THE NEED FOR a comm. service coordinator and explain our new project called PJ&B (Pjs and books) and pass the bag for monetary donations
